ICM’s Newsletter
John, to the seven churches in Asia: grace to you and peace from him
who is and who was and who is to come. Blessings from the ICM board and staff. From the board of ICM to you who are preparing and who have prepared to proclaim the Good News by bringing the Lord”s healing touch through your prayers: may your Lenten observances have led you to a joy filled Easter. At the end of the Gospel according to Mark (ch 16. 15-18) we read: "And he said to them, ’Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News’' … And these signs will accompany those who believe... they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover." In the Gospel accounts Jesus regularly accompanies his message with healings to show as well as proclaim God’s love. In Mt 9.35 we read, "Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages … proclaiming the good news and curing every disease and every sickness." St. Paul also tells the Corinthians, "I did not come proclaiming the mystery of God in lofty words … but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power." You may not think of praying for the sick as evangelization, but in fact that is what you do. As we look and listen to those around us in our churches, our families and our workplaces, we find many struggling with relationships with their spouses or children or siblings. We see many whose bodies carry pain or fight disease. We hear many whose emotions are wounded from past betrayals and hurts. Let us continue to ask the risen Lord to renew our spirits with his Holy Spirit to give us the love and the courage to be used as an instrument to minister his healing love to those around us. The need is great and the call is urgent for people to experience the Good News. Jan and Joan have been hard at work this past winter on a soon-to-be-completed FHM-I update: a number of DVDs replace previous CDs, CD numbers are integrated into the Coordinator Manual, and the Workbook is incorporated into the Coordinator Manual. The recently concluded FSC program presented by Betty, Jean and Wendy of ICM at the WWCCR offices won praises from the participants.
